We caught the most gorgeous golden sunset tonight at a park in Mountain’s Edge and this family was just as perfect as can be! You can totally see how in love they are with each other and that beautiful baby girl! As it should be. Little Avery was a dream to work with! Her mommy is a good friend of mine and gave me 1 set of specific instruction for her baby’s shoot…. NO PINK! So we played around with some of my props and some of the pieces she brought in. We were able to incorporate both colors and neutrals! And we got so many poses! One really cool set we did is at the bottom, (save the best for last, right?) it’s a succulent next that she made for her sweet little princess so she could have some pictures to match the milk bath maternity session we did at her house. I guess she’s the one I will be calling if I need any floral arrangements made in the future because they both came out AMAZING!

Ahhhhhh!!! The fresh mountain air! It was nice and crisp and you can even see a hint of snow in the background of some of these gorgeous pics taken recently to commemorate Brittany’s pregnancy. The momma of this spunky little girl saw a gold cake smash set up I did for another baby and loved it but we added some rainbow colors for a nice pastel pop! This munchkin had so much fun and I did too! All of her facial expressions really crack me up! I didn’t want her to leave… Hope to see you again soon!
When my beautiful friend, Meghan, told me she was pregnant, I couldn’t hide my excitement! I remember her asking me what I thought it was going to be and I said… a BOY! Man, was I wrong! Once she found out it was a girl, the planning began! She said, “Sheena, I want to do a milk bath session and a family session with all my boys before she arrives but also putting a little focus on my baby bump…” I said, “I can do that.” “And in the meantime, I’ll be ordering stuff for my daughter’s NEWBORN SESSION!!” Yes, Meg is a planner. And that’s what I love about her. We work well together. She plans the outfits, the accessories, the floral arrangements and I coordinate the locations and the time for the best light and capture the moment. I just love sunset… the gold tone is so romantic, don’t you think?
Mom’s cake smash idea: SOME BUNNY IS TURNING ONE , for the win! This adorable little Easter baby LOVED her cake! In fact, she loved it so much that she tried to eat it with NO HANDS! HAHAHA! Gotta love her enthusiasm. I’m not even gonna lie, I’d totally eat my cake like that too if I could get away with it!
When the weather outside is frightful, the mommies-to-be usually want to come inside where its nice and warm. This beautiful girl from Colombia is expecting her first daughter in a few short weeks! I’m just as excited to meet her as momma is, I think! She will return to my studio when baby is between 5 and 10 days old for her newborn session.
Since we have Nellis Air Force Base here in Las Vegas, I get my fair share of military families in my studio… but mostly Air Force people. For this newborn session, I got a Marines family! This beautiful baby’s father dedicated 8 years of his life and his boots have touched the ground in 23 different countries all over the world. I’m honored that you chose me as your newborn photographer and I’m glad I was able to do the one shot that you wanted with your daughter and your boots. When this sweet little angel’s mommy came into my studio and said she wanted lots of cream and pink and purple, I looked at her and smiled and said, “I can do that!” So off I went to my prop area to show her some colors. She showed me another picture from a session I did with my newborn ring hammock and said she loved that so I made sure to get mom a pic like that for her gallery. It makes me feel proud to know that a prop I made myself has become so popular. I wish I had time to make more. Welcome, baby Sloan!
When my this guy’s momma asked me to do her son’s cake smash and she said she wanted the theme to be WILD ONE, I loved the idea because my friend Michelle Clark did a cake smash almost just like this for my son last month!
